I *heart* thrift stores

Good morning!

I've often mentioned that I gladly scout thrift stores for nail polish. And it's worked out well for me too. An RBL for 45 cents? An OPI for 33 cents? Yes please.
The weekend before last, I was on a mission to hit pretty much all of the St. Vincent De Paul stores in town.
I was in search of more storage bins for my polish as well as other things I needed to finish my nail polish room/home office.

My first stop yielded me some storage at super cheap and the second held little promise until I wandered down the personal care aisle.
Imagine my surprise to find two bottles of Innisfree nail polish. Innisfree is a Korean brand and certainly not one I expected to find anywhere in Eugene. I scooped them up and went on my merry way.

So let's move on to some photos!

Innisfree Creamy Grey
Four coats, no top coat

Oh dear. Creamy Grey is quite the temperamental bish. The first two coats were sheer and streaky which I expected. I was surprised the third didn't bring opacity. I was more surprised that the fourth was also streaky and that it didn't level out. Wow. I didn't even bother checking to see if top coat would level things out because I was certain it wouldn't. However, I can tell you that this dries incredibly fast.
So...is it a keeper? I think so. I have an idea for a manicure with it and OPI My Pointe Exactly. If that doesn't work then I'll sponge with it. I also paid 49 cents for this so it's not like I spent a fortune.

The next one was missing its label so I could find no information about it. Hopefully someone may know and will be kind enough to share.

I did not expect this to be nearly as bright as it is. Over white polish, it's almost neon. I did expect it to be sheer and streaky because yellow polishes often are. This isn't nearly as streaky as Creamy Grey so it's definitely going to be a good option for Duck Day manicures. Once again, this dries super quick.

Overall, I'm psyched to have found these. I'm pretty sure the ones I have are older since I could only manage to find bottle shots of a short round bottle. Very similar to the Wet n' Wild Craze bottles from 2009.

I would love to try more Asian brands but price and difficulty in obtaining them are my obstacles. (I don't really like eBay so I tend to avoid it.) Innisfree can be found on eBay, Amazon and C&C Korean Cosmetics (C&C is based out of Montreal and they do ship to the U.S. but I do not know much more about them. They do carry Missha, Tony Moly, Etude House and Skin Food among others.)

That will do for today! Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a lovely day.

Disclosure:
These items were purchased at St. Vincent De Paul with my own money.

  1. I've gotten a lot of great polishes at one particular thrift store, though I've never scored an international brand there. Your swatches make the colors look great, hope someone helps you id the yellow!
