I may need a duochrome intervention

Good morning.

Today we have another Zoya. I say it all too often but I adore multi and duochromes. I will always buy a polish if it is duochrome. I should catalog just how many polishes I own in those finishes but I'm kind of afraid to do so. I don't want to know how deep this sickness is.

Summer 2011 was very good to me because Matt set aside quite a bit of money for me to buy polishes that I'd been longing for but couldn't buy. Because I'm cheap and I sacrificed my nail polish budget to save up for our third trip to Cancun. Anyway, this satisfied several lemmings.

Zoya Ki
Three coats over base coat

Oh dear Bob that is lovely. Multichromatic dark purple, yes please! Ki is a multifaceted polish. The base is a deep, dark purple that flashes green and sometimes silver. The formula is not as good as some only because it doesn't apply so evenly. It flows nice and dries fast but I often see it is patchy when the light hits the underside of my nail tip. Because of that, I like to layer this over another purple.

When I first saw it, I knew I had to have it. But I had to keep putting it off again and again. So when I was able to make a good size order from Zoya, it was the first color to go in my basket. This is one of my very favorites and a go to when I don't know what to do with my nails or I don't want to do nail art. I know most wear a dark color like this in Fall or Winter but I love wearing them in Summer. I'm entranced by the flashes and changes and the sunlight really works for that.

I need to compare this with two Essence polishes I have because there may be some duping going on. Add that to my to-do list...

I purchased this in 2011 from Zoya.com for $7.00. It makes me happy.

  1. Totally gorgeous. I don't have this one but I do have...Adina? I think that's what it's called. And it's so, so pretty.

I love that story about Matt setting aside money! Too cute.
